This year, my birthday came with an unexpected but much-welcomed gift—getting my cast off! Doctor’s office called and asked to be there an hour before the appointment to remove the cast and do an x-ray to check on my progress.
A Moment of Relief and Anxiety
Leading up to the appointment, I was worried. What if the fracture hadn’t healed properly? What if I needed more time in the cast—or worse, surgery? The uncertainty had been weighing on me, but thankfully, the X-ray showed that the fractured hasn’t gotten worst from last month x-ray and that everything was coming together as it should. Hearing those words from my doctor was a huge relief!
Now in a Boot—What’s Next?

Although I’m out of the cast, I’m not completely back to normal just yet. I’ll be in a boot for another four weeks- two of those weeks will be non-weight-bearing, followed by limited walking around the house. This means my activity level won’t change much for now, and I’ll still be focusing on upper body workouts only. But that small bit of independence already feels like a win!
Looking Ahead
While I still have a long way to go, this milestone is a reminder that progress is happening. Recovery takes time, but each step forward—no matter how small—brings me closer to full mobility. For now, I’ll continue following my rehab plan and celebrating the little victories along the way!
I’ll be sharing more updates on my recovery journey, so stay tuned!
